D.C. Police Seek Suspect Wanted in Killing of Teen, 16

WASHINGTON, DC – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating a person of interest in a fatal shooting case involving a teen victim.

The incident occurred on Monday, September 25, 2023, at approximately 3:38 p.m. in the 2300 block of Green Street, Southeast, Washington, D.C., and left a 16-year-old male dead.

Seventh District officers discovered 16-year-old Jamal Jones suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

As of now, details about the circumstances leading up to the fatal shooting are scant. Police have not released any additional information about potential motives or other suspects.
