Chesapeake Police Investigate Shooting Near Border Road; One Man Hospitalized

CHESAPEAKE, MD – On the evening of October 16, 2023, Chesapeake Police responded to a report of gunshots heard near the intersection of Border Road and Shady Lane. A male victim was found injured with a gunshot wound on the nearby Farmer Lane.

Officers arrived on the scene at 8:02 p.m. and located an adult male in the 2100 block of Farmer Lane. The victim was suffering from a single gunshot wound and was promptly transported to a local hospital. The nature of his injuries is said to be possibly life-threatening.

As of now, authorities have not released a suspect description. “The incident is currently under investigation,” confirmed the Chesapeake Police Department in a press release.

The Chesapeake Police Department has announced that anyone whose tip leads to an arrest, or the recovery of drugs or stolen property, could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1500.
