NYPD Reports Burglary at Staten Island Islamic Center

NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York City Police Department is requesting the public’s support in identifying an individual in relation to a burglary at The Islamic Center of Staten Island. The incident took place on Friday, roughly at 4:15 am.

As per the police report, an unidentified male gained entry to The Islamic Center located at 2546 Arthur Kill Road through a rear door. Inside, the individual took two donation boxes and four exterior donation boxes, amassing approximately $2,000.

Following the theft, the suspect made his escape in a dark older model sedan on Arthur Kill Road in the direction of Rossville Avenue.

The person of interest is described as a male, light-skinned, medium build, and likely between the ages of 55 to 65. He has salt and pepper hair and was dressed in a light-colored long sleeve shirt paired with dark pants. There were no reported injuries from this occurrence.

The NYPD encourages individuals with pertinent information about this incident to step forward.
