Arrest Made in Bronx Double Shooting Homicide

NEW YORK, NY – New York City authorities have arrested and charged an individual in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in the Bronx.

Marquel Brown, a 27-year-old male from Meriden, Connecticut, was arrested on Monday, October 16, 2023, at 5:05 p.m. within the confines of the 47th Precinct.

Brown faces multiple charges, including murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a loaded firearm.

The incident in question took place on Thursday, June 29, 2023, when police responded to a 911 call of shots fired at East 213 Street and Holland Avenue. Officers found a 34-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the right leg, who was later transported to NYC Health & Hospitals/Jacobi in stable condition.

A second victim, identified as 26-year-old Justin Rodriguez of the Bronx, sustained gunshot wounds to the chest and shoulder. Rodriguez was transported privately to Montefiore Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.
