Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Greenbelt

Greenbelt, MD — A pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle on Eastbound Greenbelt Road has died from his injuries, according to an update from the Greenbelt City Police Department. Both the pedestrian and the driver of the striking vehicle were initially transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

“Unfortunately, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased,” stated the Greenbelt City Police Department in a social media update. “The investigation is still ongoing and the Prince George’s County Crash team is on the scene.”

At this time, details about the identities of the involved parties have not been released. The circumstances surrounding the incident, including the cause of the crash and any possible charges against the driver, remain under investigation.

Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the accident to come forward as the Prince George’s County Crash team continues its investigation on the scene. Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
