Man Pleads Guilty to 2020 Fatal Hit and Run in Manhattan

NEW YORK, NY – Jason Clotter, 34, pleaded guilty to charges related to a fatal hit and run car crash that occurred in 2020.

The crash resulted in the death of one individual and severe injuries to two others. Following the incident, Clotter fled New York State and was later extradited from Knoxville, Tennessee in the subsequent year.

The incident, as admitted by Clotter, took place on February 17, 2020, when he was driving at twice the legal speed limit on Park Avenue.

He ran two red lights at the intersections of East 128th and 129th Streets, causing a collision with a livery vehicle. Deborah Yvonne Gray was severely injured in the crash and passed away six weeks later due to her injuries. The livery driver also sustained serious injuries.

Clotter is set to be sentenced on November 30 and faces between 7-12 years in state prison.
