Woman Assaulted, Struck By Vehicle Dead In D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – A 30-year-old woman, identified as Anee Roberson of Northwest D.C., died after being assaulted and struck by a vehicle early Saturday morning. The incident occurred in the 900 block of U Street at approximately 4:20 a.m.

Officers were flagged down to find Roberson down in the roadway. She was taken to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries. The vehicle that struck her remained at the scene and was not involved in the initial assault.

The autopsy ruled the cause of death as multiple blunt force injuries, confirming the manner of death as homicide. Detectives are now seeking to identify those responsible for the assault that led to Roberson’s death.
