Multiple Shootings in Akron Injure Two

AKRON, OH – Akron police are investigating two separate shootings. The first occurred on Wednesday around 4:35 p.m. at the Stop and Go Mini-Mart on the 1200 block of Diagonal Road.

Upon arrival, officers found a 27-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his leg, who was later transported to a nearby hospital.

A 23-year-old suspect was apprehended at a residence on Hardesty Boulevard, but charges are still pending.

Witnesses report an altercation outside the store involving the injured man brandishing a firearm before shots were fired. In a subsequent, unrelated incident, officers were dispatched early Thursday to the Rubber City Lounge on the 400 block of North Main Street.

At approximately 12:10 a.m., a 42-year-old male was found with gunshot injuries in the parking lot. He is in critical condition at Summa Health Akron City Hospital. The shooter(s) in this case remain unidentified and at large.
