66-Year-Old Cyclist Killed in Baltimore Hit-and-Run

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND – A 66-year-old man was fatally struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident while riding his bicycle late yesterday morning. Officers responded to the 300 block of West North Avenue at approximately 10:50 a.m. after receiving a report of a pedestrian struck.

The victim was first hit by a vehicle while riding westbound in the 300 block of West North Avenue. As he lay injured, a second vehicle struck him again. The first vehicle fled the scene while the second vehicle’s driver remained.

The injured man was transported to the University of Maryland Medical Center, Shock Trauma, where he was later pronounced dead despite attempts at life-saving measures.

The Accident Investigation Unit has assumed control of the investigation. Next-of-kin notifications are pending. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact AIU investigators at 410-396-2606 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7LOCKUP for those wishing to remain anonymous.
