ERIE COUNTY, NY – Eloy D. Guadarrama Silva, a 21-year-old from Rex, Georgia, was arraigned on Wednesday before Buffalo City Court Judge Diane Wray.

He is charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.

The charge stems from an incident on Tuesday, when around 9:14 p.m., Guadarrama Silva inadvertently turned onto the Peace Bridge.

During a subsequent vehicle inspection, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers discovered a loaded, illegal handgun in a backpack.

He is due to return for a felony hearing on Monday, October 23, at 9:30 a.m. If convicted, Guadarrama Silva could face up to 15 years in prison.
