Shooting in Paterson Leaves One Dead, One Injured

PATERSON, NJ – On Sunday, at around 3:01 a.m., officers from the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of Market Street and East 36th Street due to a reported shooting.

Upon arrival, a 32-year-old male from Paterson was discovered with multiple gunshot injuries. He was rushed to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center and is now in stable condition.

Another individual, yet to be identified, later arrived at the same hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest. This second victim was subsequently pronounced dead.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation. Additional details will be shared as they become available.

Both the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office and the Paterson Police Detective Bureau are looking into the incident.
