Suspect in July Murder Turns Himself In To Columbus Police

COLUMBUS, OH – Salad Jeylani, charged in the fatal July shooting of Osman Ali in west Columbus, surrendered to authorities on October 19 and is now in custody at Franklin County Jail.

The initial incident occurred on July 22, when Columbus police arrived at the 1300 block of Crossing Green Lane following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim, Osman Ali, in a vehicle near his home with a gunshot wound. Ali, 20, was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition where he was later pronounced dead.

The 21-year-old Jeylani is facing charges for the homicide and his case will proceed through the legal system.
