Two Arrested in State Street Murder

SCHENECTADY, NY – Following an intensive investigation into a homicide at 764 State Street, two suspects were apprehended on Sunday.

With efforts from Schenectady Police detectives and the New York State Police, 709 Crane Street was pinpointed as an area of interest.

The suspects were confirmed to be inside an apartment at the location.

Kevin M. Dingle and Jeffery J. Bashaw of Schenectady were arrested and charged with various offenses, including second-degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

The victim has been identified as 42-year-old Leroy A. Chisom. The Schenectady Police Department commends its officers, the New York State Police, and the community for their efforts in resolving the case.
