Delaware State Police Investigate Threatening Social Media Image Reported by High Schools

DELAWARE — On October 25, at around 2:44 p.m., staff from Cape Henlopen High School and Sussex Central High School contacted the Delaware State Police about a troubling image featuring a gun and a threat to the school circulating on social media.

The investigation revealed that the image has been in circulation nationwide for several years.

At present, Delaware State Police have not found any intelligence to indicate that the threat is credible. However, authorities caution that the absence of intelligence does not necessarily imply the absence of a threat.

The public is urged to always report suspicious activity by calling 911.
