Clinton Police Officers Involved in Deadly Shooting During Domestic Disturbance Call

CLINTON, NC – Around 1 a.m., Clinton police officers responded to a domestic disturbance call at a residence on Dogwood Circle.

Upon arrival, they were informed by a woman that a man had assaulted her, striking her in the face and head.

She further reported that the man was armed and still inside the home.

Officers encountered the individual in a closet, and when he allegedly pointed a firearm at them, they responded with lethal force.

The identity of the deceased has yet to be disclosed. All officers involved have been placed on administrative leave as the State Bureau of Investigation reviews the incident.
