Five Found Dead in North Carolina Residence

CLINTON, N.C. – Early Thursday, deputies from the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office discovered five individuals shot dead in a residence off Garland Highway outside of Clinton.

The call, which came in just before 1 a.m., reported a homicide.

The victims, consisting of four men and one woman, varied in age from their mid-30s to their 80s.

Captain Eric Pope, during a news conference, mentioned that a person who had spoken to one of the victims around 11 p.m. later found the bodies when visiting the home.

At this time, investigators are uncertain about the connection between the victims and have no information regarding a potential suspect. The sheriff’s office continues to investigate this incident.
