Multiple Bodies Discovered in a Home on Garland Highway

CLINTON, NC – The bodies of four men and one woman were recently found inside a residence on Garland Highway.

The discovery occurred late on Wednesday, around 11 p.m.

Five individuals were found dead from gunshot wounds early Thursday in a southeast North Carolina home, sparking a homicide investigation with no current leads on suspects.

Sampson County Sheriff Jimmy Thornton announced that deputies responded to a residence off Garland Highway near Clinton at approximately 12:55 a.m. following a report of a homicide. Upon arrival, authorities discovered five victims, all fatally shot.

Sheriff Thornton stated in a news release that investigators currently possess no information regarding any suspects, nor do they understand the relationship between the victims.

According to Capt. Eric Pope, the authorities were alerted by a 911 call from an individual who had spoken to one of the victims at around 11 p.m. The caller later visited the residence and discovered the bodies. The victims, four men and one woman, ranged in age from their mid-30s to 80s.

The ages of the victims span from 30 to 80 years old. As of now, their identities remain undisclosed, and it is unclear how or if the victims were acquainted.

The investigation into this discovery is ongoing.
