Woman Assaulted and Carjacked at Beltway Plaza Shopping Center

GREENBELT, MD – On Friday, at around 4:30 p.m., a carjacking incident unfolded at the rear of the Beltway Plaza Shopping Center.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers were approached by a female victim. She recounted that while she was inside her car, a silver 2019 Hyundai Elantra, another vehicle approached.

Two or three individuals disembarked and demanded her car. When she refused, one of the subjects forcibly removed her from the vehicle and physically assaulted her.

The culprits subsequently fled in her vehicle. The assailant was described as a lean-built black male wearing a black jacket and ski mask. No weapons were reportedly involved in the altercation.

Both vehicles exited the parking lot, heading in unknown directions. After being assessed by on-site medical personnel, the victim did not require further hospital treatment.
