HARRISBURG, PA – Attorney General Michelle Henry announced a joint operation with Pennsylvania State Police and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration that led to the arrests of two men, Leroy Williams and Ryan Hofer, for trafficking 50,000 pills of fentanyl disguised as oxycodone. The operation was interrupted this week in Delaware County.
Williams and Hofer were arrested Monday in Ridley Township. They face charges of possession with intent to deliver, conspiracy, dealing in proceeds of unlawful activity, and criminal use of a communication facility. Investigators had been tracking arrangements involving the two men transporting the pills from Arizona to Pennsylvania.
Attorney General Henry emphasized the significance of the arrests, noting that the confiscated fentanyl pills pose a severe threat. “Our Drug Strike Force and Bureau of Narcotics Investigations teams have seized hundreds of thousands of pure fentanyl pills so far this year, with each pill posing a catastrophic threat,” Henry said.
At the time of his arrest, Williams was on federal supervision and is currently held at Delaware County Prison on $800,000 bail. Hofer is also at Delaware County Prison, with bail set at $500,000. The investigation continues.
