OCEAN COUNTY, NJ – Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced that Porfirio Serrano-Cruz, 40, of Seaside Heights, was sentenced to seven years in New Jersey State Prison for Aggravated Assault related to a stabbing incident in Seaside Park.

The sentencing, handed down by the Honorable Kimarie Rahill, J.S.C., mandates that Serrano-Cruz serve at least 85 percent of his term under the terms of the No Early Release Act before he can be considered for parole. Serrano-Cruz had previously entered a guilty plea on August 14, 2023.

On June 30, 2022, Seaside Park Police responded to a 911 call at a residence on O Street. The caller stated that an intruder had attempted to kill him. Upon arrival, officers found a 39-year-old male with multiple stab wounds to his arms, chest, abdomen, and groin. The victim was air-lifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center and subsequently released after treatment.
