NORFOLK, VA – Norfolk Police are investigating two fatal shootings that occurred within 24 hours of each other on Bonnot Drive, both leading to the deaths of young males.

On October 26, at approximately 8:00 a.m., officers responded to the 6900 block of Bonnot Drive after reports of an unresponsive man. Upon arrival, they found 20-year-old Lamarion O. Budd with a life-threatening gunshot wound. Budd was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The following day, October 27, at around 1:00 a.m., police received another report of a gunshot disturbance, this time in the 1300 block of Branch Road. Officers discovered another unresponsive individual on the 6900 block of Bonnot Drive, identified as a 16-year-old male. He was also pronounced deceased at the scene.

Chief Mark Talbot expressed grave concern over the back-to-back homicides. “Every homicide is cause for great concern, but having two homicides occur so closely together within the same community is gravely disturbing to me,” said Talbot. He assured residents of the Tanners Creek neighborhood that they can expect an increased police presence as efforts to identify those responsible intensify.
