Two-Alarm Basement Fire Prompts Evacuation at Linden Home

LINDEN, NJ – Emergency personnel responded to a structure fire in the 500 block of Maple Avenue at around 10:20 a.m. today. Firefighters found the blaze located in the basement of a multi-family residence. Two occupants and several pets, including six birds, were evacuated safely. No injuries have been reported.

The Linden Fire Department, assisted by Union County Fire Mutual Aid units, are currently combating the two-alarm fire.

As a result, several roads in the vicinity are closed. Residents are advised to steer clear of the area.
