Laurel Shooting Claims Life of One Teen, Two Others Injured

LAUREL, DE – A Sunday afternoon shooting in the 500 block of West Seventh St. has claimed the life of an 18-year-old and left two other teens injured.

Delaware State Police reported that the 15-year-old and 13-year-old boys were admitted to a local hospital in stable condition.

On Sunday, at around 2:47 p.m., officers responded to reports of a shooting and found three victims on the porch of a residence.

They discovered the 18-year-old male with multiple gunshot wounds and the other two males with injuries to their lower extremities.

The case is now being handled by the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit, with the suspects still at large. Laurel School District announced a closure on Monday following the incident. By 1 p.m. on Monday, the state police confirmed that all three victims were residents of Laurel.
