Man Shot Over Bicycle Dispute in Winston-Salem

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – A North Carolina man faced a violent confrontation early Tuesday morning when two strangers attempted to steal his bicycle.

The incident took place on the 2900 block of Old Greensboro Road, shortly before 3 a.m.

Winston-Salem police, upon arriving at the scene, found the man with three gunshot injuries: two to his upper back and one to his foot. He was transported to a hospital, with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

Based on initial findings, the victim had been cycling when he was approached by the two unknown individuals. They attempted to seize his bicycle, but he resisted and fled.

In retaliation, the suspects fired multiple shots at him. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and the Winston-Salem police department asked witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
