Teen Killed in Akron Shooting on Romig Road

AKRON, OH – A Sunday night altercation resulted in the death of a 17-year-old male and left two others injured, as per a Summit County Medical Examiner’s statement. This incident marked the second fatal shooting in Akron over the weekend.

The deceased has been identified as Anthony Elliot of Cleveland. At approximately 9:30 p.m., an argument erupted inside a business located on the 2500 block of Romig Road.

After being escorted outside, the verbal dispute escalated into a physical one in the parking lot, which culminated in gunfire.

Anthony was transported to Cleveland Clinic Akron General and was declared dead at 10:02 p.m. due to multiple gunshot wounds. Another 23-year-old female victim, who was also shot multiple times, remains in stable condition at the same hospital.

A 32-year-old man, believed to be from the same incident, checked himself into Summa Health Akron City Hospital with a gunshot wound. All victims hailed from Cleveland. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Akron Police Department.
