Teen Shot and Killed in Goldsboro

GOLDSBORO, N.C. – Early Monday saw the shooting death of a 17-year-old in Goldsboro. At 12:48 a.m., officers from the Goldsboro Police Department, prompted by a ShotSpotter alert of multiple gunshots, arrived at 908 South Audubon Avenue.

Deputies from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office also responded upon hearing the gunfire.

On the scene, they discovered the teen suffering from a gunshot wound. He succumbed to his injuries before EMS could attend to him.

Investigators and a crime scene specialist are currently examining the circumstances surrounding the incident.
