Wallkill Man Hired Hitman to Kill His Neighbor While Mending Fence

WALLKILL, NY – The Orange County District Attorney’s office has brought forward charges against Enoch Lowe, a 25-year-old Wallkill resident.

On Monday, Lowe was arraigned on an indictment for Murder in the First Degree, among other charges, for allegedly orchestrating the killing of his neighbor.

Prosecutors allege Lowe hired Damante T. Stansberry, 24, to commit the murder on October 30, 2022.

Stansberry, who has pled guilty to Murder in the Second Degree, allegedly carried out the stabbing while the victim was repairing a fence in his backyard.

Lowe, accused of acting as a lookout and coordinating the attack via text messages, was arrested on October 10. The Town of Wallkill Police Department, with assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies, led the investigation. The case against Lowe continues with his next court appearance scheduled for December 1.
