Bethesda Woman Killed in Upper Marlboro Crash

UPPER MARLBORO, MD — A fatal vehicle collision that took place in September has claimed the life of 71-year-old Alena Mirshahi of Bethesda, confirmed the Prince George’s County Police Department.

The accident occurred in the 900 block of Harry S Truman Drive. Mirshahi succumbed to her injuries shortly after being transported to the hospital on September 22, 2023. Investigators report that the victim’s vehicle veered off the road and collided with a building. The precise cause of the accident remains under investigation.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, as of November 2, determined that the crash resulted in the injuries which led to Mirshahi’s death.

Authorities are seeking assistance from anyone with information regarding the incident. Witnesses or individuals with knowledge pertinent to the investigation are encouraged to contact the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit.

The Prince George’s County Police Department has made provisions for anonymous tips through Crime Solvers and the “P3 Tips” mobile app, ensuring confidentiality for those who come forward with information.
