Police Capture Hotel Camera Thief After Stolen Goods Put Up For Sale Online

UTICA, NY – The Utica Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division has made a breakthrough in a larceny case involving stolen camera equipment from a local hotel on October 13th.

The investigation led to an undercover operation after the stolen items were listed for sale online.

On October 27th, officers apprehended Corey Phillips, 32, of Utica, with one piece of the stolen equipment.

Phillips is charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fourth degree.

The search for the remaining items continues, and the public is asked to contact the Utica Police with any information or to submit anonymous tips through the Mohawk Valley Crime Stoppers service.
