Home Invader Shot and Killed in Ohio

WASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, OH – A suspected break-in on East Paint Street resulted in a shooting death, as reported by the Washington Police Department.

The incident, which occurred late Wednesday night, involved 30-year-old Corey Keeton.

At approximately 10:15 p.m., a 911 call led police to a residence where they found Keeton unresponsive with a gunshot wound to his chest.

Despite life-saving attempts by the officers and Fayette County EMS, Keeton was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Washington Police Department, along with the Fayette County Coroner’s Office, have begun an investigation. The identity of the shooter, who claimed self-defense during the alleged burglary, has not been disclosed, with police citing the individual’s status as a victim.

No charges have been filed at this time.
