Tractor-Trailer Driver Escapes Serious Injury in Route 46 Crash

PALISADES PARK, NJ — A tractor-trailer accident on Route 46 brought emergency responders to Palisades Park early Friday morning. The incident, which occurred near the bridge over East Homestead Avenue, resulted in non-life-threatening injuries for the driver.

According to reports, the driver navigated westbound when the vehicle veered off the road around 4 a.m. The cab detached and was left hanging on a wooded embankment, sustaining severe damage.

The driver was rushed by ambulance to Hackensack University Medical Center.

The Palisades Park Police and Fire Departments, New Jersey State Police, and the State Department of Transportation were among the agencies responding to the crash.

Traffic flow on Route 46 was impacted during the incident, but the current status of the road remains unreported. The investigation into what caused the driver to veer off-road is underway.
