Drive-Up Food Distribution Event in Newark on Wednesday

NEWARK, NJ — Director Fritz G. Fragé of Newark Public Safety has announced street closures for the upcoming Drive Up and Go Food Distribution event scheduled for Wednesday, November 8, 2023.

Dayton Street will be closed to traffic between Evergreen Avenue and Emerson Place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The food distribution event will commence at 11 a.m. at the intersection of Dayton Street and Foster Street.

Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to seek alternative routes during these hours. The Department of Public Safety appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during the event.

Director Fragé also reminds the community to report any criminal activities to the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). Information provided is confidential and may be eligible for a reward.
