Gunfire Erupts Near Main and Castle, Leaving Shop Owner with Gunshot Wound

GENEVA, N.Y. — Early Friday morning, the Geneva Police Department responded to a shooting incident at Byrne Dairy, a local convenience store.

At approximately 1:40 a.m., officers, who heard gunshots near Main and Castle streets, discovered a 33-year-old man inside the store with injuries from gunfire to his lower body.

The victim received immediate aid from responding officers before being transported to a Rochester hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition.

As of now, no suspects have been apprehended in connection with the shooting.

The Geneva Police Department considers this an isolated incident and reassures the community that there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
