Philadelphia Pizzeria Worker Shoots and Kills Armed Robbery Suspect

PHILADELPHIA, PA – An attempted robbery at George’s Pizza in the Frankford neighborhood resulted in a deadly shootout Saturday night around 8 p.m.

Philadelphia police report that two armed individuals entered the store with the intent to commit a robbery.

The exchange of gunfire between the suspects and an employee of the store led to one suspect being fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene, while the second suspect fled on foot.

No store belongings were taken, and no other injuries have been reported. The identity of the deceased suspect remains undisclosed. Police have recovered the firearms and are reviewing security footage to locate the fleeing suspect.

A witness account indicates the employee acted in self-defense during the encounter. Police are continuing their investigation into this violent event.
