Chicago Man Charged with First-Degree Murder in May Incident

CHICAGO, IL — Christopher Hurt, 29, faces a first-degree murder charge for the fatal May shooting of a 42-year-old woman. Hurt, a resident of the 1700 block of N. Mango Ave., was arrested on November 6 in the 1900 block of W. Birchwood Ave.

The shooting occurred on May 16 in the 0-100 block of S. Whipple St. in the city’s 11th District. A detention hearing is set for November 8 at 2600 S. California.

Details about the circumstances of the incident remain limited as the investigation is ongoing.
