Iranian Born Republican Frank Sadeghi Wins Ocean County Commissioner Election

TOMS RIVER, NJ – When he came to America from Iran, he was a foreigner in a strange land with little more than the clothes on his back. Now, Frank Sadgehi runs a successful engineering and development company that is a large regional employer.

On Tuesday, he also became the newest member of the Ocean County Board of Commissioners.

Sadeghi, a Republican, narrowly lost an election to become the GOP chairman of Ocean County in 2019.

He defeated Roxanne Barnes, his Democrat opponent, 70% to 30%.

Sadeghi will replace Joe Vicari, who has been serving as freeholder and commissioner since 1982.
