Shootout in Rowan County Leads to Multiple Charges

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. – A shootout on Tuesday afternoon left vehicles and apartments damaged in Rowan County. The incident, involving an AK-47 style rifle, took place at 4:34 p.m. at the Woodland Creek Apartment Complex.

Rowan County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived to find extensive damage from gunfire. A Salisbury man, suffering from gunshot wounds, later arrived at a local hospital with injuries deemed non-life-threatening.

Michael Daryle Withers, 27, of Charlotte, was apprehended at the scene.

Withers, who is also facing charges from a previous murder case, has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon causing serious injury and posted a $10,000 secured bond.

Shikese Zontae Mcentyre, 25, from Salisbury, faces multiple charges related to the shootout. Although he was not detained immediately due to his medical condition, charges against him include assault with a deadly weapon.
