Buffalo Man Pleads Guilty to Weapon Possession After Threat

BUFFALO, NY – Bishara Lott Sr., a 51-year-old Buffalo resident, entered a guilty plea for attempted criminal possession of a weapon this Thursday before Erie County Court.

The incident, which occurred on Sunday, October 23, 2022, led Buffalo Police to a residence on Florida Street following a threat to Hutchinson Central Technical High School posted online by a teenager living at that address.

During the police search, sanctioned by a temporary Extreme Risk Protection Order, two illegal handguns were discovered and seized.

While two adults were initially charged, only Lott was definitively linked to the weapons via DNA evidence. The second adult’s charges have been dropped.

The teen involved pleaded guilty to aggravated threat of mass harm and will face Family Court proceedings. Lott, now under supervised release, is awaiting a February 2, 2024 sentencing, which could result in up to 7 years of imprisonment.
