Newark Police Make Arrest in Road Rage Shooting Incident

NEWARK, DE – Delaware State Police apprehended 34-year-old Joseph Bartell following a road rage altercation that occurred on Monday.

The incident began on Summit Bridge Road and escalated when Bartell, driving a Jeep Liberty, allegedly fired a BB gun at a Chevrolet Silverado during a merge in a construction zone.

The Silverado’s window was shattered in the altercation.

Bartell, who voluntarily turned himself in the following day, is facing multiple charges including Aggravated Menacing, a felony.

He was released on an $8000 unsecured bond after arraignment.
