Fatal Single-Car Crash in Delmar, Delaware Claims One Life, Injures Another

DELMAR, DE – The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a fatal car accident that occurred in Delmar, resulting in the death of a 35-year-old man from Seaford, Delaware. The incident, involving a single vehicle, took place on November 11, 2023, around 11:34 p.m. on Whitesville Road.

A white 2006 Cadillac STS was reportedly traveling westbound at a high rate of speed on Whitesville Road, east of Whaley’s Road, when the driver lost control. The car began rotating counterclockwise and veered off the roadway, striking multiple trees and continuing to spin violently. During the crash, the front right passenger was ejected from the vehicle and was later found in a wooded area near the south edge of the road.

The driver of the Cadillac was pronounced dead at the scene, and his identity is being withheld pending notification of family and relatives. A 31-year-old female passenger from Seaford, Delaware, sustained life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to a nearby trauma hospital for treatment.

The incident led to a closure of the roadway for about four hours to facilitate investigation and clearance of the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation to determine the factors that led to this tragic outcome.
