Man Robbed at Knifepoint Inside Bathroom of North Jersey McDonald’s

HACKENSACK, NJ – Police arrested a Bergen County man on Monday for attempted robbery at a local McDonald’s. Shajee Jackson, 30, from Hackensack, faces charges of first-degree robbery, weapons offenses, and terroristic threats.

The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. at the McDonald’s on Essex Street. The victim reported that Jackson approached him in the bathroom, brandishing a knife and demanding money. Upon the victim’s refusal, Jackson fled the scene.

Responding officers apprehended Jackson two blocks away, still in possession of the knife, stated Capt. Michael Antista of the Hackensack Police Department.

Jackson is currently detained at the Bergen County Jail, awaiting a court hearing. As of Tuesday morning, there was no listed attorney information for Jackson in public records.
