ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. – A recent incident in Rowan County led to the death of Joseph Benjamin Zickafoose, 54, and Melissa Kincaid Zickafoose, 51, in what officials suspect to be a murder-suicide.
The incident took place on Monday night at their residence on Old Concord Road.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call around 6:30 p.m., concerning a domestic dispute. The couple was found in a detached garage on their property, both deceased from gunshot wounds. Entry was forced into the locked garage by officers.
The Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation into the deaths, seeking to uncover the circumstances leading up to this incident.
