Erie County Official Pleads Guilty to Falsifying Timecards

BUFFALO, NY – Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that Christa M. Cutrona, 46, of West Seneca, has pleaded guilty to Falsifying Business Records in the Second Degree.

Cutrona, formerly the Director of Correctional Health for the Erie County Sheriff’s Office, admitted to falsifying her personal timecards between December 30, 2021, and February 7, 2022, fraudulently collecting approximately $1,200 in pay.

The plea came before Buffalo City Court Judge Barbara Johnson-Lee on Tuesday.

An internal audit uncovered the crime, leading to Cutrona’s resignation on July 15, 2022.

She has made full restitution as part of her plea agreement, and the case has been transferred to Mental Health Court.
