Neighbor Caught Burglarizing Man’s Apartment


Utica, NY — On November 14, 2023, at approximately 5:15 PM, Utica Police responded to a reported burglary on the 1000 block of Churchill Ave.

The victim, upon returning home with a friend, discovered the upstairs tenant rifling through their belongings and holding some of the victim’s money. After confronting the tenant, the victim contacted the police.

Officers arrived and arrested the suspect, identified as 60-year-old Kevin Karas of Utica, without incident. Karas was charged with burglary and taken to the Utica Police Department for further processing.
