One Injured in Targeted Shooting Incident on Saw Mill River Parkway

YONKERS, NY – A shooting incident was reported on Tuesday morning near Saw Mill River Parkway and Tompkins Avenue in Yonkers. At around 11:30 AM, Yonkers Police Officers were dispatched following reports of gunfire in the area and a male with a gunshot wound at a local hospital.

Upon arrival, a crime scene was established on Tompkins Avenue, adjacent to the Saw Mill River Parkway. The area was sealed off for a thorough criminal investigation after the shooting yesterday morning.

The injured male, currently in stable condition, sustained a gunshot wound to his arm. Initial findings indicate the suspect shot the victim while he was in his vehicle before fleeing the scene. No further injuries or property damage have been reported.

Investigators believe this to be a targeted attack, posing no immediate threat to the public.

Detectives from the Major Case Squad and Crime Scene Unit of the Yonkers Police Department are actively working on the case. Additional details will be released as the investigation progresses.
