Unruly Suspect Charged for Gun at Utica Union Station

UTICA, NY – On Wednesday, Utica Police officers responded to a report of an unruly individual at Union Station.

The officers located the male and intended to provide him transportation to a shelter for the evening. Before boarding the patrol vehicle, the officers inquired about any dangerous items in his belongings. The individual, identified as Fredrick Daniely, age 25, admitted to carrying a 9mm handgun in his book bag.

Daniely, who claimed Sovereign Citizen status and lacked a valid New York State pistol permit, was subsequently detained and transported to the Utica Police Department.

He now faces charges of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the third degree and Criminal Possession of a Firearm.
