Charges Filed in DUI Related Crash that Injured Four Motorcyclists

LIGONIER TOWNSHIP, PA – The Ligonier Valley Police Department, aided by the Westmoreland County District Attorney’s Office, has filed DUI-related charges against William Strogish, 67, of Ellsworth.

The charges pertain to a July accident on Route 30 near Laurel Mountain summit, where Strogish, driving an SUV, struck four motorcyclists, seriously injuring three.

Witnesses reported Strogish crossing the centerline twice before the collision and attempting to flee afterward.

Strogish, who hasn’t held a valid driver’s license since 1976, was arraigned on Thursday.

He faces multiple counts of aggravated assault by vehicle while DUI. All injured riders are undergoing extensive recovery.
