Man Convicted of Murdering Pregnant Girlfriend in Queens

QUEENS, NY – Goey Charles, 33, of Uniondale, was convicted of second-degree murder in the October 2020 death of his pregnant girlfriend, Vanessa Pierre.

Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz announced the conviction, noting Charles’s impending sentencing on November 29th, where he faces 25 years to life in prison.

The murder occurred on October 23, 2020.

Surveillance footage showed Charles dragging Pierre’s body out of his white Dodge Challenger and abandoning it on the sidewalk along Horace Harding Expressway in Bayside.

An MTA bus driver discovered Pierre’s body early that morning, with emergency responders pronouncing her dead at the scene.
