Police Make Arrest in Matthew Ponder Murder Investigation

MIDDLE RIVER, MD – Following the investigation into Matthew Ponder’s murder, Anne Arundel County Police have recently made an arrest.

On Thursday, Andre Raquan Riggs, a 26-year-old from Middle River, was apprehended by the Police Fugitive Apprehension Team.

The incident, occurring on the 400 block of M Street North East, resulted in the death of 27-year-old Matthew Anthony Ponder.

Riggs faces charges including First-Degree Murder, Home Invasion, and related crimes. Despite the arrest, the investigation remains active, and homicide detectives are continuing their inquiries.
