Homicide Suspect Surrenders at Orient Road Jail

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL – Osmin Castillo, a 21-year-old man connected to a September 23, 2023, homicide in Wimauma, surrendered to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at Orient Road Jail on November 19, 2023.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s deputies initially responded to a homicide report on Sanchez Ranch Lane in Wimauma on September 23. During their investigation, a warrant was issued for Castillo for 2nd Degree Murder. Further investigation revealed Castillo’s involvement in a sexual relationship with a minor under 16 years of age.

Sheriff Chad Chronister remarked on the case’s progress, highlighting the significance of Castillo’s arrest in ensuring community safety and the continuous efforts of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office in addressing serious crimes.
